DIBs Policy (Volunteering)

WSPHA relies on volunteers to keep our organization running. DIBS (Volunteer) opportunities include assisting with Tournaments, Fundraising, and operating the West St. Paul concession stand for WSPHA events and Warriors and Riveters high school home games.

Hours required

For the 2025-2026 hockey season, almost all families will be responsible for fulfilling 10 volunteer hours no matter how many skaters are registered for that family, or what level they play at.

One 12U? 10 hours total.

Two mites? 10 hours total.

One 8U, one squirt, one 15U, and one Bantam? 10 hours total.

Families that only have a first-year mini-mite registered do not have to complete the 10 hours.

Buyout

When you register, you can either: 1.) agree to volunteer 10 hours, or, 2.) “buyout” your volunteer obligation for $1000. If you choose the buyout, you will pay the buyout immediately and you will not need to complete your volunteer hours.

Failure to complete volunteer hours

Any family that does not complete the 10 volunteer hours by the end of the season will have their credit card on file charged for the $1000 buyout fee.

How to Volunteer

Volunteering opportunities are accessed through the Association WEBSITE. At this time, you cannot sign up for Dibs in the Crossbar mobile app. We will update you if and when that functionality becomes available.

You can find your Dibs dashboard here or by clicking "Account" and then "Volunteer" from the upper left hand side of the WSPHA website, just above the Warriors logo. You must be logged in to view or claim available Dibs.

Shifts will be added periodically, starting at the end of October and continuing through the beginning of March. If you have multiple skaters in your family, you can view your fulfilled/scheduled shifts by selecting the Skater you registered first.

Cancellations and replacements

Claimed volunteer hours may be canceled up to four days prior to the event. If you cancel within the four-day time frame, you will need to find a replacement for your claimed item. Leaving your spot unclaimed / unfulfilled can affect the success of the event. Reach out to your team and team manager to try and find a replacement for your shift. If you still cannot find a replacement, reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator. If this is not completed as stated above, the Association will consider adding a Monetary Penalty for future seasons.

We are looking forward to a fun and successful season!

Thank you for volunteering and contributing to the success of our Association!
