St Paul Tommies Junior Gold

The St Paul Tommies (SPT) provide an opportunity for fun, competitive hockey with a focus on respect, sportsmanship, and personal character development.

Play for 8 years, live for 80.

Academic progress is a priority. Even though there is no affiliation with STA, we will follow STA Guidelines for attendance, academics, and substance abuse. USA Hockey Rules and MSHSL guidelines are enforced.

JGHSL - 24 league games - 12 home (at STIA), 12 away

Regular Season: December 1 - February 20

Playoffs: February 25 - March 1

Playoffs - JGA, JGB @ PIC, JG16 @ MG

Minnesota Hockey - State Tournament - St. Croix Rec Center (All Levels)      Stillwater

State Tournament: March 12 (Banquet) - Games: March 13-15

STA Spring Break: March 16 - March 20

50-60 Home ice hours per team - STIA & maybe Woog (practice ice)

In the past 10 years, JG hockey has been home to more hockey players at STA than JV or Varsity hockey.

For many years, we have been able to find opportunities for 51-58 players to continue playing hockey on three teams.

For the 25-26, there will only be two teams offered:

• JGA (Team 1)
• Either a JGB or a JG16 (Team 2)

This is due to:

1. Uncertain number of players
2. Limited STIA ice availability

• Participate in STA High School Hockey Tryouts 
• HS Tryouts are scheduled November 10-12
• Players must be green-lighted on Final Forms

Sunday Nov. 16

STIA 10:20 AM-11:20 AM - Team 2

STIA 11:30 AM-12:30 PM - Team 1

Monday Nov. 17

• STIA 8:00 PM-9:00 PM - Team 2* 
• STIA 9:10 PM-10:10 PM - Team 1*

Tuesday Nov. 18

• STIA 8:30 PM-10:00 PM - Final Scrimmage*

* If necessary. Ice use may be change to Team 1, Team 2 practices

Player requirements:

• Register with USA Hockey
• MN Hockey High School Waiver - non WSP residents
• IF NOT 197 School District (WSP, MH, Eagan) a one-time waiver - they carry over from season to season
• Payment of Player fees at the beginning of the season
• Scholarships
• Providing their own proper equipment (safety)

Player expectations:

• Attendance and commitment
• Communication
• Consequences for absences
• Priority and follow through

JG16 Players must be born between:

June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2010

• Typically Sophomores, and Freshmen
• Can accommodate Juniors within the birth date range

JGB and JGA Players must be born between:

June 1, 2006 to May 31, 2008

And

June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2010

• All Players are eligible if they are born after June 1, 2006
